Facial Skincare

Tretinoin Prescription 0.025%
I’ve been wanting to try low strength tretinoin for a long time. It is a skincare powerhouse medication, with excellent anti-aging and anti-acne benefits. It also has been used in some cases to treat rosacea, usually only difficult cases that have not responded to other treatments. In my case, I am primarily interested in the anti-aging benefits, though I am also curious to see if regular use of this product will reduce some of my non-transient redness by thickening of the skin after long-term use. I discussed this with my GP and received a prescription, so we’ll see how this goes.

Innisfree Apple Seed Cleansing Oil
This is a new formulation of Innisfree’s Apply Juicy Cleansing Oil. I am running out of my current oil cleanser, and this one, or at least the old version, has gotten very good reviews. The delicious smell of apples appealed to me, so I thought I’d give this a try.

I’m from Honey Mask
I’ve been dying to try this mask since forever. Every review I’ve read has been so good, I really wouldn’t do myself justice without giving this lovely a try.

COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence
COSRX gets rave reviews all the time, and I can tell they are a really solid brand. I’m curious about pretty much everything in their line, and I chose the essence for this testing block. The Galactomyces essence is a holy grail product for a lot of people, and I’ve been sorely missing a first essence in my routine since I ran out of the Nature Republic Saccharomyces The First Treatment Essence. It had a very lovely softening effect on my skin, and I’m looking to get that back. Fingers crossed!

Picture3 (690x515)

Scinic Honey All In One Ampoule
I’ve been eyeing Scinic’s and Shara Shara’s gigantic ampoules ever since they were released. The Shara Shara ones don’t seem to be in production anymore, unfortunately, so Scinic it is. I needed to pick just one to try, and the honey version is the one I see get the most rave reviews. I love honey myself, so that was a pretty easy decision. The size of these products also appealed to me a lot, because they’d fit into a body skincare routine wonderfully as well.

Picture18 (690x453)

Guerisson 9 Complex Cream
My face looooves the heavy creams, and Horse Oil is so fascinating to me as a skincare ingredient. People rave about this one a lot too, and with my introduction of tretinoin in this testing block, I figured I would need a heavy hitter to keep the tret-face away.

Picture4 (690x628)

Skinfood Freshmade Coconut Mask
I had to do some shuffling around with my testing schedule because I originally thought this was a wash-off mask. Turns out it’s a leave-on type, so I’ll be using it in my routine as a sleeping pack. I went with this one next in the Freshmade line because I freaking love coconut, and I wanted something that was more moisturizing than the Apple mask.

Other Products

Picture15 (690x600)

Innisfree Melting Cover Foundation
I thought this was a cushion foundation. I bought it because I wanted to try another cushion foundation. This is not a cushion.

Picture11 (690x563)

Innisfree Camellia Essential Hair Oil Serum
I’m still pretty lost when it comes to hair care. I’ve been reading a lot about different types of products and steps, but I’m pretty unsure what I should be trying. I like Innisfree, I already bought their Camellia Essential Shampoo. I think I just want to see if leave-in treatments like serums are the direction I want to be heading.

Picture10 (690x333)

Skinfood Cuticle Pusher
Adding in an additional step to my nail care routine. I thought pushing back my cuticles was another relatively easy thing to do. I realize it’s not a necessary step by any means, and I don’t currently have any issues with the state of my cuticles. I was mostly curious to see if pushing them back on a regular basis would have a positive impact, or any impact, on the look of my nails.

Picture13 (639x690)

Purebess Galactomyces 80 Eye Cream
I’ve been feeling like my routine has lacked eye cream, but I’ve had absolutely no direction for what to look for. This one gets pretty good reviews, and is ridiculously cheap for an eye cream. Also, it comes in a gigantic tube for an eye cream. Cheap as hell and effective? Yes please. Seemed like a great product to start with.

Picture5 (690x491)

Tony Moly Tangerine Hand Cream
Continuing my quest for the Tony Moly Fruit Bowl.

Picture7 (690x514)

illi Total Aging Care Smoothing Lotion and Body Wash
I highly disliked the Nature Republic body wash and lotion (reviewed here and here) that I sprung for in my last haul. No more of that. I decided, screw it, I’ll just get what I wanted in the first place instead of settling for whatever because nothing else interests me. Hoping these will do more for my dry skin, as well as be more enjoyable to use.

Picture6 (690x528)

Radius Cranberry Floss
Finding neat products for oral care is hard. This was one of the only non-mint flavored flosses I could find that interested me.

Picture9 (548x690)

AmLactin Foot Cream
This was the last haul in which I had hand and foot products as a separate category. Originally I ordered an illi foot cream, but I was messaged and told it was out of stock so my order was shipped without it and I was refunded. I only browsed around briefly for something else, and I decided on this cream pretty quickly. AmLactin products have lactic acid in them, and I thought an AHA exfoliant/cream would be a good choice to maintain my feet between foot peels.

Repurchases

Picture17 (690x482)

Mizon Black Snail All In One Cream
I emptied a jar of this cream sometime last year, and I think I may have been missing it. After it ran out, I noticed a distinct lack of softness to my skin that I used to have when using this cream. I went without for a good number of months, then I decided to give it another try to see if it can be my first holy grail product.

Picture14 (532x690)

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence
I finished a bottle of this a couple of months ago. I had the experience many ABers do with this particular product. When I was using it, it didn’t seem like it was doing anything at all for my skin. Then when it ran out, there was just something… less awesome about my face. There was some dullness and roughness that hadn’t been there before. Admittedly, this ran out right around the time that I also emptied my Nature Republic Saccharomyces The First Treatment Essence, so it could have been either of those products that were giving me that feeling. However, since the FTE was discontinued, I figured I may as well just try the Benton essence again and see if it was indeed the awesome-skin culprit.

Picture2 (681x690)

Tony Moly Shiny Foot Super Peeling Liquid
This foot peel really impressed me my first go around. My heels were such a cracking nightmare, I could barely wait to use it. I gleefully spent 2 weeks gently removing the dead peeling skin to reveal baby-soft brand new foot skin underneath. Peeling feet are just so damn satisfying, though I probably pulled at the peeling skin a bit more than I should have. Anyway, definitely want to do that again in a few months so I had to pick up another.

That’s it for this testing block. I’ve already ordered most products for my Spring/Summer testing block as well. I’m currently waiting on 4-5 products, so that post will be up in the couple of months hopefully. Thanks for reading!
